Go from feeling overwhelmed and isolated to learning how to overcome both personal and professional challenges

to help you successfully adapt and fall in love with your new country.

Over 30 experts came together on Nov. 18th and 19th to share their expertise, experience and tips on how to do so.

LIVING OR MOVING TO A NEW COUNTRY CAN BE EXCITING BUT ALSO LONELY, CHALLENGING AND OVERWHELMING

You have to worry about things like…

Making new friends and finding a support network

Starting and running a successful business

Parenting and educating multicultural kids

Dealing with culture shock, language barriers and mental health

Finding a job in your industry, adjust to a different work culture and climbing the corporate ladder.

Finding housing,  health insurance, legal support and managing your finances

It  also takes courage to leave behind all that you love and move abroad. And once you relocate it requires an inordinate amount of resilience and flexibility to adapt.

We’ve got you covered!

At our summit, our speakers spoke on a range of topics including finding a job and career success, parenting, starting and running a successful business, reinventing yourself as a trailing spouse,  managing your finances, mental health and mindset and more to help you navigate life as an expat.

MEET YOUR HOST

Hi, I’m your Summit Host, Nyna Caputi, CEO and Founder of The Expat Woman. I am so delighted to bring you our Survive and Thrive Abroad Virtual Summit.

THIS IS MY EXPAT STORY….

I am what one might call an “accidental expat”. I am originally from India and now live the San Francisco Bay Area in the US. I came to New York to study film and ended up meeting and marrying my husband who is third generation Italian and Swiss French, and born and raised in San Francisco.

Moving to a new country especially since I wasn’t planning to make it my home was hard. Despite having a loving husband, I missed my family and friends, my country and the life I was used to. I didn’t have much of a professional or personal network, and struggled to create one. And looking for a job was a challenge especially since many jobs in the US are through referrals.

I looked for expat groups where I could meet other immigrant women online or in person and also find resources to navigate expat life. This was in 2003 and they were non-existent. That’s when the idea for creating The Expat Woman came about. It took me 10 years ( as I got caught up with work, raising a family and making a feature length documentary film) but in 2013, I launched The Expat Woman in the beautiful city by the Bay.

My mission is to help women like me who move abroad to make valuable connections, find jobs, start businesses, and find the support they need to navigate their personal and professional lives in a new country through our content, community and curated events.

We have hosted over 350 in-person and online events but Survive and Thrive Abroad is our first virtual summit for expats by expats focused on topics related to navigating a new country and overcoming the many challenges and hurdles.

IT'S TIME TO

Here are what some past attendees of our summits and events had to say

Finding the Expat Woman was like finding a new family. Navigating your way around a new country can be challenging as it is and being an introvert made things even harder for me. But the people I met at their events not only helped me overcome my inhibitions but they also enriched my life immensely by sharing their experiences and knowledge.” – Shringar, Expat Woman from India

“The Expat Women is a support column for every woman. It’s empowering expats and locals through the different events they are organizing. I’ve been attending events for few years now and it’s never a disappointment. I’ve been a speaker few times and it’s always a pleasure! – Anastasia, Expat Woman from Moldova

FAQ

You do not need to be an expat woman to attend this summit. This event is open to all genders, backgrounds, professions, locals and expats across the globe.

The main portion of the summit runs from November 18th to the 19th. Because our speakers and guests are based across the world and want to be able to give folks in different time zones a chance to attend at least part of the summit live, we will run the presentations on Nov. 18th from 3pm to 8pm PST and from 10am PST to 5pm PST on Nov. 19th. The Facebook community will be available right when you get your ticket!

Each video will be available for 24 hours. However, you can grab the All-Access Pass to get lifetime access to all of the videos and all the additional goodies that come with it.

To avoid tech glitches, save my sanity, and keep things easy for the speakers, the presentations are pre-recorded and will be released at the scheduled time. The live portion comes in with the speakers being in the chatbox for 15 mins after their presentation is released!

All of our speakers for this summit have been hand-picked and our slots are currently full. However, we’re open to additional affiliates or potential speakers next year’s summit. If you’re interested in affiliate details or being considered for our Summits in 2021, email us at info@theexpatwoman.com

No problem! Shoot an email over to info@theexpatwoman.com and we’ll get back to you within 3 – 5 business days.

FREE ACCESS TICKET

With this ticket, you can watch all  the presentations for free.

You will have access to all of them for 24 hours after the summit ends on Nov. 19th.
