I came to the US in 2002 to study film and stayed on because I fell in love and got married to a San Francisco local.
It all happened very quickly and I hadn’t really prepared for this life-changing move abroad.
I had to face many hurdles with looking for a job, making friends and dealing with a new culture.
This led me to connect with other expat women who were also learning to navigate the country and after forays into film, working in the non-profit field including helping immigrant professionals find jobs in the US, I founded and launched The Expat Woman in 2013 in San Francisco.
I quickly grew a network of expatriate women to 13k strong and fostered a community that provided a platform for collaboration, networking, and sharing of resources.
I am also a LinkedIn coach, consultant, trainer and speaker. LinkedIn played a huge role in my professional journey abroad, helping me build a network of powerful expat women and allies.
